The Police Victim Services of British Columbia is gearing up to host their annual training symposium later this month.
People from across the country are expected to attend the symposium at the Delta Burnaby Hotel and Conference Centre from April 20 to April 22 to learn best practices and ensure they have the tools they need to help victims in their communities.
The symposium will include several workshops on a variety of topics, including the Canadian Victims Bill of Rights, mental health, supporting vulnerable victims of crime, psychological first aid and cultural diversity.
In partnership with the British Columbia Crime Prevention Association, a provincial police roundtable will be held as a networking and training opportunity. Participants in the roundtable will share success stories, challenges and solutions and collaborate to inspire creative initiatives. All criminal justice partners and community agencies are invited to attend.
